What is NMI?

Nazarene Missions International (NMI) is the promotional, educational and fund-raising arm of missions for the Church of the Nazarene. It is the organization that provides the structure and spiritual dynamic for mobilizing the church in mission.

NMI is represented and organized on regional, district, and local levels. The Church of the Nazarene is divided into six world regions, which are then further divided into districts, which consist of many local churches.

Independence First Church of the Nazarene is our local church on the Joplin District in the USA/Canada Region. For more information on world regions click here.

NMI Mission Statement: To mobilize the church in mission through praying, discipling, giving, and educating

NMI Objectives

  • To encourage people to pray for all efforts of world evangelization
  • To inform people of the world’s needs and what the church is doing to meet those needs
  • To challenge children and youth to learn about and participate in the mission of the church
  • To raise funds for mission outreach

They are involved with various ministries including Alabaster, Crisis Care Kits, Faith Promise, Work & Witness, JESUS Film Harvest Partners, and many others.
